MoMo Payment Service Bank has appointed Bode Abifarin as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2026.
The fintech subsidiary of MTN Nigeria said Abifarin will lead the company into its next phase of growth, with a focus on expanding digital financial services, strengthening financial inclusion and improving customer value.
Abifarin brings more than 23 years of experience across financial services, digital payments, fintech, consulting, strategy, operations and business transformation.
Before the appointment, she served as Chief Operating Officer at Flutterwave, where she was involved in the fintech company’s expansion across African markets and the development of its operating structure.
She also previously spent 15 years at KPMG, rising to Associate Director in Management Consulting, where she advised financial institutions and other organisations on strategy, transformation and business growth.
Abifarin later founded Strata Advisory, a technology-focused advisory firm that supports businesses seeking to scale their operations.
Her appointment comes as competition continues to intensify across Nigeria’s digital financial services industry, where fintech companies, banks, telecommunications firms and payment platforms are competing for customers.
As a payment service bank, MoMo PSB provides services including money transfers, bill payments and mobile wallets, while operating under the Central Bank of Nigeria’s regulatory framework for PSBs.
In a statement on the appointment, Abifarin said she was joining the company at an important period for Nigeria’s digital financial services sector and would work with its team, regulators and partners to expand access to secure and customer-focused financial solutions.
MoMo PSB’s new leadership will now face the task of growing its digital financial services business in an increasingly competitive market while continuing to pursue its broader financial inclusion objectives.
